Gawd. I turn 25 today. That means I am officially a Christmas Cake! Nonetheless, I had a blast!

The term クリスマス・ケーキ (Kurisumasu Kēki) has also been used to refer to women in a very unflattering way. Young women were expected to be married by the age of 25; just as no one wants a Japanese Christmas cake after 25 December, a woman over 25 was seen as past her sell-by date.

15 Nov, Saturday

I had my Japanese Oral exam on Saturday, did some shopping after that, and went to ECP for a BBQ. MZ’s my mummy this year, she organised the birthday BBQ for me and tried to pimp me off as well. Haha. I really appreciate her generous gesture, cos I have no time to organise anything at all. It was a small gathering, but I enjoyed it.

14 Nov, Friday

I met Yun and BJ for dinner at Shokudo, Raffles City Shopping Centre. Went in one time with HJM and KawaiiLG, but we didn’t eat anything there, so I thought I’d give it a try. :p We spent time catching up, and am quite glad that Yun’s life has less clutter now. :) And BJ forgot to bring that earring rack she helped me buy (again). Haha.

I didn’t mention this, but I’ve been promoted to Project Manager since the beginning of November. I’ve always wanted to order from Cupcake Momma, but never had the occasion to, so I thought this will be a nice opportunity. The cupcakes arrived at the office yesterday before lunch. :)

I ordered 12 pieces of Roar! Jungle King, 12 pieces of White & Red Hearts and 12 pieces of assorted cupcakes. The lions are for the MySG people, cos I simply love their Roar for Singapore banners. White and red hearts for all the girl-girl and boy-boy relationships formed during the company trip. And assorted cos it has shooting star design. :)

I packed 4 cupcakes for my retainer client, as I had a meeting with them yesterday afternoon. Too bad it was not well-received cos the client does not like sweet stuff. The cupcakes were a hit with my colleagues, though. Some of them had more than one. Luckily I ordered more than 30 of them. :p

Wrath of the Lich King is out today! I saw the above web comic and was reminded of last year’s The Burning Crusade launch.

I was queuing up for multiple copies for my guild mates, when a random guy in the queue started talking to me, and we realised that we’re from opposing factions on the same server, but things didn’t get as ugly as in the web comic la. Haha. We just made faces at each other, that’s all. I also won a lot of things at last year’s launch. :p

Last year, the launch event was at Suntec and it was major. The queue snaked to infinity. This year, it seems to be just a tiny event tucked in some corner of Singapore.

Last Friday we had our APAPA November babies outing. This pic is the only decent pic of the night. The other pics were either out of focus or we all looked totally CBG. Haha. :p

We went to eat chao da beehoon recommended by HMHC, then later went to Kbox at Suntec. Everybody ditched us at about 2am plus, I went home at 3.30am cos my dad came to fetch, I think HJM and Pipi stayed till 4am. Haha. The eyebags I had the next day were crazy.

It’s gonna be Christmas soon, I wonder if we are having a gift exchange? This Christmas will be APAPA’s 2nd anniversary as well.

The last day was crazy. Vivian, Terence and I slept for only 2 hours, then we went for a swim with Nick, washed up and was ready for checkout. We missed breakfast totally. That’s us (photo in top right hand corner) playing some card games after lunch, while waiting for the bus to take us to the ferry terminal.

We had some time at the ferry terminal, so we went to the DFS. Shruti got a free ride on the luggage trolley. Haha. We’re already back in SG in the lower right hand pic. Terence nicely offered to push all our luggage, so that Vivian and I were able to do the victory sign for the photo, just like a typical Asian. Haha.
