Canon IXUS 980 IS

Canon recently launched a new compact camera that allows users to control aperture and shutter speed. I am very tempted to sell off my Canon IXUS 860 IS to get this camera so that I can experiment with aperture and shutter speed. Have already seen a couple of sample pics taken by this camera, it’s just as good (or sucky at high ISO :p) as my 860.

Also, it’s selling at SGD 659 with free 4GB SD card, which I think is a normal price range. Maybe can get cheaper at Mustafa? But might not have freebies there. Haha. I can sell off my current camera and top up a bit to get it. :) Need to check how much my current camera can fetch. I’ve only used it for a year and it’s in pristine condition.

Pris & Ling: My friend recommend me the Nikon D40 lei! I saw this camera at Courts today, couldn’t play with it cos the battery was flat. :(

I keep thinkin abt getting a DSLR too… but just couldnt justify its cost cuz i wasn’t interested in taking photos professionally. DSLR does enabled taking certain shots which a normal digital camera cant achieve but what can be achieve is already quite abit… even more if you can control the shuttle speed and aperture. http://zetallite.com/randomness/2008-05-12/going-home-at-night/ not great but still fun :)

PK: Yeah, I don’t think I’ll go professional as well, which is why I haven’t bought one yet. I’m not passionate enough about photography.
