Row 1 (L-R): Central World, Xiaohui, Li Keng and a mascot
Row 2 (L-R): Swatch display, Cute Strangers
Row 3 (L-R): 3 x Thailand Ronald, Cars for Sale!

Last day was the coolest day. We ditched SC and hubby and spent our time at Central World. It’s this huge shopping mall at the high-end area of the city.

Outside the mall, there was this huge billboard that days 70% off cars. I’m not sure if it means you get 70% off if you purchase both the Mazda 3 and Mazda MX5, or just either of them (I can’t read Thai). But this is something you won’t see in Singapore, discount for cars. Haha. The traffic there is bad, but it’s not stopping them from selling more cars.

We had shabu shabu buffet for lunch. The interesting thing is, the restaurant gives you a time limit to eat. If you exceed the time limit, you’ll have to pay a penalty. They’re trying to stop people eating from lunch till dinner (or supper) time. The dessert weren’t really great. Their jelly tasted like concentrated cough syrup and was really hard. We couldn’t dig into it with the metal spoons provided. We had a fun time at the place.

I bought my uber pair of Respect M.E. Adidas shoes there and we had to head back to hotel to prepare to go back home.

Row 1 (L-R): Xiaohui and I, Xiaohui & Li Keng
Row 2 (L-R): Buru!, Very cute princess dog, ah bit land, Couple of GRs, Stash for the day

We spent the day at Chatuchak market and I had a grand time molesting the animals. Nothing much to buy here, the clothes I won’t wear one lo. And the shoes don’t come in my size. I have huge feet. Haha. Ended up buying tops for Oreo and some little bags to sell online. But Yahoo! is still problematic, so I haven’t posted the items online yet.

I also met Buru! See her photo up there. She’s really tame and didn’t whine like the other toy poodles we saw at the market. Only SGD 40+. They were selling a lot of ah bits as well. All of them looked like ah bit when he was young – palm sized! The cute thing was, the vendors made their ah bits wear dresses. I didn’t manage to take a pic of one in a dress, but they looked really cute.

We went to MBK in the evening and I bought a lot of things. Finally found my Rock & Republic jeans at an affordable price, so I had to buy them. I saw the jeans at Phuket when I went with JJ and gang, but they were grossly overpriced. I also bought a BAPE T shirt and a hoodie. Love the hoodie, it’s extremely warm though.

Row 1 (L-R):See how many freaking people there are?, My Parents and I
Row 2 (L-R): Me, Xiaohui and Li Keng, Stash for the day

The third day of the trip was the worst. We woke up at 4 am to take the transport to 白龙宫, where this old man can advise us on our life journey, bless certain items that we wear daily, write us protective talismans and sign on our cash for huat huat.

The temple was situated very far away from our hotel, by the time we arrived in the vicinity of the temple, the sun was already shining brightly, and our queue number was > 150 (yes! He’s so popular he has a queue system!). Apparently we didn’t wake up early enough.

By the time I got to see him, it was already 1 pm. Nothing worth mentioning about what he said, but I got him to bless my pinky ring, sign on my 2 dollar note and got a talisman as well. That 10 hours spent there wasn’t worth it. I rather I went to the floating market instead. And apparently, the temple visit was not very huat/protective cos I’m currently sick at home (which explains why I have the time to blog). Will blog about this terrible sickness I’m having in a later post.

My mom says the old man dissed all of us off cos we’re not celebrities or he thinks our lives are not important enough to require his attention. Btw, did you know that Tony Leung and Carina Lau went to see him when they were arranging their marriage? Now, these are the kind of people he thinks are worth his attention. I think, when it comes to a point where you use fame/wealth to decide whether you want to help people or not, you are not fit to be someone who resides in a temple.

After the temple visit, we spent our afternoon at Platinum mall. Managed to get some cheap clothes, but alas I only fit in 4 out of 6 tops I bought. This happens because I couldn’t try them on. Haha.

Btw, I updated Bangkok Trip Day 1 with pictures that I took on SC’s cam. :)

Row 1 (L-R, 2nd half L-R): Li Keng & I, SC and Li Keng, SC and I, SC and hubby, Li Keng and I
Row 2: Xiaohui & Li Keng, Dad, Li Keng’s parents
Row 3: Random Scenes

Wanted to wait for the pictures from SC and add on to the previous post, but her photos never arrived, and I doubt they ever will. So I’ll just move on to blog about the second day of our trip.

We went to Sam Ping, a wholesale market. There were a lot of shops selling cheap art materials at wholesale price. I bought 6 rolls of wool to make my amigurumis. Haha. There were no clothes to buy though. I saw some cute bears and wanted to get them as souvenirs for the girls in the office, but there weren’t enough stock, so I only got enough for APAPA girls and APAPA female spouses. :p Will be giving them out during the next APAPA gathering, which is PP’s birthday dinner.

After Sam Ping, we were walking around the neighbourhood and saw this really tiny Chihuahua and a Golden Retriever. I wanted to take a picture of them next to each other to show the stark contrast in their sizes, or at least both of them looking at the camera, but it was quite tough, so I only managed to get the shot below. I really like that pic of the Golden Retriever in the collage though. He looks like he’s smiling as I’m scratching him. :)

The puppy only costs 2,500 Baht. But this is a friendship price, meaning the seller did not earn much from the sale. If tourists like us went to make a purchase, it’ll be double the price or something.

Reached the budget terminal pretty early to grab some food. MZ and KC joined us as well.

It was a late flight, and I was seated next to the wing, so my view was blocked.

My camera ran out of battery when I touched down at Bangkok, so I took pictures using Jaye’s cam instead. She has yet to send me the pictures that I took on her cam.

We went for late night supper after dropping our stuff off in the hotel rooms. After that, we hung out at a flower market and some road side stalls late into the night. There was nothing to buy. We bought two rings of jasmine flowers as a sort of fragrance for our rooms, and Gavius got Jaye a very nice bouquet for her birthday.

I took a lot of pictures at the flower market using Jaye’s cam. Here are some of them below:

Over a random lunch conversation, my lunch group decided that last Friday was Rainbow Day, where each of the girls in the lunch group came in a color of the rainbow. An impromptu move was to use the corresponding colored Care Bear as our MSN avatar. :p Below is the image Tse Wei created for our facebook event page:

We could only take photos in full strength after work as MK was out of office in the morning. She’s represented by the pack of tissue I’m holding, and Jaclynn’s that red plastic bag in the photo we took during lunch. You can see that we’re already lined up in the colors of the rainbow. Haha.

Lisa passed by the staircase while we were taking photos and we roped her in on the fun. :D

Guess what came in the mail today. :3

There’s a note inside the box addressed to a Happy kawaii Princess. Haha. :p Apparently I won this from the Xiaxue campaign.

It arrived with excellent timing, cos I’ve been wanting to buy sunblock for my face. Even asked MZ to help me check out the price for the Biotherm one previously. Lucky she didn’t help me buy. My mom says kawaii TOKYO products are expensive, I hope it’s really good! I don’t mind paying for it if it is. :)
