Went to Spotlight last Saturday after class to look for beady eyes and plastic noses. Chanced upon a section with lots of St. Patrick’s Day merchandise. There were hats and clover shaped wands which were wrapped up in packs of 4 so we didn’t play with them.
At the level with the cinema, the promotional space for Rule #1 (horror movie directed by Kelvin Tong) was really horrifying. There’s a wig and a severed hand covered under a white sheet which looks really gory if you caught the scene in the corner of your eye. x_x
And here’s my second amigurumi creation. 🙂 The rabbit turned out like crap. Lol.
I recently discovered Amigurumi dolls on Etsy. It is a Japanese art of crocheting little stuffed animals.
Eager to learn how to crochet, I bought a mini crochet hook and some cheapo yarn from the craft shop at JP. I learned only enough to make Amigurumi dolls (mainly single crochet and decreasing). Wahaha. :p I also bought the two patterns below from Etsy. The bunny ears require me to know how to do a half double crochet, so that’s my homework for today. 🙂
I couldn’t find the required materials at the craft shop at JP and the lady was being pretty rude about knowing nothing about Amigurumi dolls. My colleague kindly pointed me to a shop at Bukit Gombak. I bought 3 balls of yarn from her and the required hooks. It’s a bit out of the way for me, but I like the lady at the shop, so I’ll drop by to get more materials next time. 🙂
Here are some of my favorite shops on Etsy that sell Amigurumi doll patterns or just the dolls: anapaulaoli, thetokicafe and AmyGaines.
I dreamt of multi-colored bunnies sleeping in a box. Inspiration for my next layout. 🙂
Went to try cable skiing at Batam with some of the colleagues I got to know from the Asia Challenge. It’s $80 for half a day (We arrived there at 11 plus and left at 4.10pm). We got a little bit of discount as we went in a big group. It’s really tiring and the top half of my body feels like it’s falling apart. I even got cramps in my fingers this morning. Hahaha. So lamey amy.
When we arrived, there was a dog there that ignored me completely and didn’t even sniff me once. It’s as if I’m part of the furniture to him. Maybe he doesn’t like Oreo O’s smell. He didn’t even come to me when I was eating! But he bothered Mijuan’s bf and Jae’s friend. Rawr. This is my first time being completely ignored by a dog, other animals are usually enamored with me. It kept walking away from me even when I tried to take a photo of him. I finally managed to snap the shot below when our lunch boxes arrived and he was sitting beside the counter where the boxes were stacked.
We later fed the dog with Coke Zero after he had happily eaten our leftovers from lunch.

Edit: I bumped into Karuwai there. She was trying cable skiing for the first time as well. So coincidental. 🙂

We had our training at the zoo last Friday. That session required a lot of thinking rather than physical exertion. We had some time left at the end when the guys were busy with the chess component (Jas and I were not very competent at chess so we opted not to participate) and I wanted to go to Children’s World, but everybody in my team refused to entertain me. LOL. Anyway, here are some pics I took along the way (with my phone). 🙂

This evening has been another of those evenings where I have time to reflect and admit that I am wasting my life away. It’s so much easier to have something to do after work so that I don’t spend time reflecting (which is an annoying and useful habit of mine), but I know that’s just deluding myself.
On the whole, I haven’t achieved much for the past half a year, except negative monetary value with the impending credit card bill due to arrive end of this month. I have cash, but prolly not enough to pay off the bill. Never thought I’d end up in such a situation since I’m such a whiz at Microsoft Excel and keeping track of transactions. But a couple of weeks without access to my transaction file (my brother did not copy it from my old HDD to the new PC), I ran headlong into debt in blissful ignorance. Sigh.
